I just posted a message a couple of minutes ago and it went through in a couple of seconds. But then I am sitting a work and we have a humongous data line out of our system to the Internet. I have only noticed a slow down a couple of times but believe it is due to our firewall and scanning systems. Even when I get on from home I have a cable modem and it seems to perform as expected. If you are using dial-up it could be a function of your ISP. If they are experiencing unusually high volumes of usage that would slow you down. Also a noisy phone line could be the culprit. If the error checking on the transmitted data packets fails then your computer has to re-send those packets again. If there is noise on the phone line then this will slow down an already slow modem line. We have experienced instances where the throughput on the modem lines decreased when it rained. I know. Nebraska Cowman would be in seventh heaven if that were the cause. :>) Just a couple of thoughts.
