You DO NOT need a pump. You can use the live power on your SMTA to power the power steering and do away with the aux pump. You will need a power divider valve in the system and you will be good to go. My SMTA had the same set up as yours and also the same problem. I took the pump, pully, reservior and hoses off and replumbed the hydraulic lines from the live power and put a power divider valve in the system and it works perfect. You will do away with repair and maintance or replacement of the old pump.
