While the engine is running, check to see how much blow-by is coming out of the breather pipe. If it is a lot more than barely noticeable, you have compression pressure in the crankcase. This most likely is coming from poorly seating compression rings in the engine. I’m not familiar with that particular engine, but the H, M, 300, 350, 400, 450, etc all have tube that runs from a tap in the head back to the air cleaner. This is to get the blow-by out of the crankcase and run it back through the engine. There may be a plug in this line or passage in the head somewhere. Hope this helps!
