Farmall H hand crank?

I have a farmall h which was never converted to electric start so I always have to use the crank, well today when I tried to start the tractor the crank kept slipping off the crank pulley. I got to looking and the end of the shaft that grips the crank pulley is rounded off. My question is does the front bolster have to come off to replace the shaft? Does anyone even sell a new shaft or do I have to find a used one? Has anyone had this problem before? Thanks Bob
