hugh, I thought about including the difference in rPM"s in Pto and pulley speeds, but without knowing exactly what the whole situation was, decided not to roil the murk of the subject. Due to the speed difference, I have seen a 2 stage system utililizing the PTO, and going from a 10" to a 5"x10" increase, which in effect brings the secondary drive pulley back to 1,000 RPM"s. There"s always a way, but without a doubt, running off the pulley rather than the PTO, simplifies things.
