Try pulling up(or back) on the control lever. If the hoses are hooked up proper, down direction should cause the cylinder to extend, or lift. The following is a direct quote from an original 300u operators manual, page 20--" The cylinder piston rod should extend when handles are moved forward and retract when handles are moved back. It will operate in the reverse manner if the hoses are reversed." I found this info out the hard way, found the manual later on. D Sellers
