I have put 7000 hrs on a 1066 and bought a 986 a year ago and I would never go back to a 66 again, the cab is loud dusty and hot, the a/c is just good enough to let you sweat if its over 90 and the brakes never worked good on mine. The 986 on the other hand has been great, the left hand shift is not a problem unless you have a rider with you, mine has a loader and it makes it great to shift and lift, ths a/c works good even after being converted to 134a and ths brakes and steering are great. the only problem i have with mine is that its needing a injector pump now which seems to be normal now with low sulfer diesel. just my 2 cents worth Terry
