I'm probably going to get snapped at for this but personally I prefer the 66 series but only because my experience has been with a 1586 vs a 1466 and only because I worked for a corporate farm that had a 1466 to pull a 12row planter and when they switched to a 16row JD planter they decided to get a bigger tractor to pull it with they got a 1586 with no research involved, power was no problem but when you went to back up especially in Ohio with a lot of point rows the reverse was at warp speed both low and high range, I looked down at the radar gun once and it said 6mph you kind of aimed it. I know the 15 had a different gearing than the bull gear tractors. The good think is the cab was wonderful. I think the 15 had a 6speed trans vs an 8 so I believe the smaller tractors had a better working range.
