Mornin' You're probably not gonna like what I say: But, if I could find a '79 or '80 1586 with an absolute guaranteed actual hour count of 4000 hours and the overall appearance of the tractor seems clean, I'd just go buy the darned thing....... 'Course, I'm not all that bright either. :>( Seriously tho, I'd back the old gal's three point hitch under the front end of another tractor and see if it will lift the other tractor. I'd work the remote hydraulic levers and make sure the engine "grunts" a little at idle when you throw 'em without being hooked to a load. I'd make sure the steering and brakes "actuate" okay without setting up a 'squealing' noise. Look at the hitch hole in the drawbar to see if it is 'round' or 'egg-shaped'. Look at the tires; how has this tractor been treated? Finally, that darned T/A; drive it around and make sure you have both hi and low speeds. Hook the tractor to a load if at all possible to make sure it doesn't slip or fall to neutral. Then at this point, if you don't want it, please call me 'cause I do. :>) Allan

Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
