Trying to get the old '51 model M winterized and and need to pull the radiator to get at the waterpump. Having a helluva time with removal. Loosened/removed all nuts 'n' bolts holding the radiator down, including the fan shroud. Problem is that the radiator needs to tip forward away from the engine but the massive "Y"-shaped column at the nose used for the steering is in the way. Does this massive Y-shaped block have to be removed to get the radiator off? Also, my drain pipe underneath protrudes out below. Does that have to be removed before pulling off the radiator? Do I have to cut or otherwise destroy the lower radiator hose?
