I would guess that antifreeze leaking into the cylinders did the damage. The sleeves are badly rusted and pitted from the top to about an inch down. Also the tops are ate away quite a bit. I would be really concerned about them if I didn't replace them. The differences I saw were in the valves and in the linkages for the low compression valves. Also the injectors are turned to a different angle. Everything else looks pretty much the same.
