One thing I might suggest would be timing. You might try changing the timing A slight amount but be sure to note where you start from and go from there.Try unhooking the air cleaner this may also be A sorce of smoke due to either being paritaly plugged or pulling oil into the intake. Outher than this, checking the nozzles and pre cups may be the next step,be sure the pump crankcase is not full of diesel fuel which can be the death of the pump. Good Luck
