The TA may or may not be a big deal. Best case, it's just out of adjustment (unlikely if it's been "broken" for a long period of time); worst case, the drive train stops working altogether when least convenient, and you end up with a major repair bill (replacement requires splitting the tractor, plus a new TA - maybe $500 alone). The "directional valve" probably is a hydraulic control valve - if it's just an O-ring it's not a big deal - but you ought to find out and/or get him to fix the problem. Repairing these tractors isn't cheap, figure it into what you're willing to pay. Good luck.
