Super C wiring schematics?

Seen that link for the Cub wiring is there anyplace out there where I could see one for a Super C? Not sure if the generator is working or not. Tester says 6 volts across the battery with lights on or off but the tractor stops if take one of the battery cables off. Is it only altenaters that will keep a moter running with one battery cable off? Know I was told this once you could check an alternater this way it will keep running without a battery cable on. I know nothing about generators, think before my time or at least not old enough to remember them.
