I've purchased a 1950 Farmall M in bad shape. My experience in restoring tractors comes from the F-series line but I'm trying something new. The M has been sitting outside for approx. ten years without anything covering the exhaust pipe. I drained several gallons of water out of the block with some old mucky oil. I also drained approx. one to two gallons of water out of the transmission but figured that would be normal. One of the tires is locked up but figured that to be the brake. The transmission shift in all the gears well. Since I've filled the engine full of diesel fuel, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and acetone to soak over the last summer. Anyone have experience with the M's block being full of water. I'm sure it was full up to the breather tube. I don't see any cracks on the outside of the block but sure I expect to need a new block or do I have a chance of saving it? Thanks
