we have both we prefer the gas simply because it starts very easy every time winter summer cold or hot the diesel is a good strong engine but did tend to start hard most the time since the rebuild this was decressed alot and installtion of a block heater aftermarket if you plan on using alot in winter go the gas just keep a eye on the manifolds they warp bad fix leaks hear fast we have learned good luck great tractors
