560--Gas or Diesel--Which is better?

I have recently bought a 1960 560G which seems
to be in really great condition. I have several
questions about it.

1.I saw where the D model's weight is about 5800
pounds, is that about the same of the gas ?

2. Which would have more power and dependability?

3. Would the 1960 model probably have had the
upgrade in the transmission or not?
