when i've repaired my 2250 cylinders, i use the regular handle with my 3/4" socket set. no cheater bar.
i had some pitting on the rods which kept eating the seals and letting oil drip. as such, i didn't need the whole repair kit. i found the end seals for a couple dollars at a place that installs and repairs garbage packer trucks. eventually, i had new rods made at a different machine shop. fortunately, i had them make a pair, as they were a little longer than the originals. hth, bill
