Just one example on this I have a 60 IMP. gallon sprayer. My guess is full it weighs 800 lbs. Sprayer is 3 point, and I fabricated a one point adapter to get it closer to tractor. The one point hitch will lift the sprayer, full if I take about a 50 lb lift on back with my hands. I can not do that with the 3 point. I use a couple of check chains so sprayer weight is not on hydraulics when spraying. I also must use some front end weight.

I have fabricated a number of implements for my tractors, and have used the one point. Key to this is getting implement weight close to tractor. I have a 6', 3 bar S tine field type cultivator, probably only weighs 400 to 500 lbs., but cultivator extends almost 6' back from rear tires. Tractor lifts it fine, but place 2 bags of fertilizer at very back and tractor will not lift. I also have 7 foot rotary hoe, weighs twice as much as the cultivator, but the weight is all within 2 feet of tractor wheels, and tractor lifts this no problems.

On implements over 500 lbs, my advice is do everything you can to get weight close to tractor. Inches count on this one.
