Hi Don, That tractor feeds by gravity and therefore the only possible way it could be thinning the oil, is by doing it while the tractor is running. He just "thinks" it is running fine; it is either loading causing it to run way too rich or it has a cylinder missing pushing unbrunt fuel. A few things that will cause this: 1. Needle/seat/float problem. 2. Carb enrichment problem (adjustment). 3. Choke problem or partially on all the time. 4. Dead hole pumping unbrunt fuel. 5. Engine running cold. 6. Bad compression.
