I would agree with other post that maybe ya got a gasket overlap or some sort of "bugger" betwwe gasket and front cover or gasket and front plate. Solutions, could possibly take front cover loose, get putty knife in to smooth surface and squeee a bunch of silicone in the area to seal. Might hold until next time ya gotta take it off anyway. I wouldn't think there would be that much pressure in that area.
