Richard, Lot's of the time prep for platform removal is the easy part. I have found that generally the bolts in the platform especially the rear ones are rusted to the platform casting.and very easy to twist off. I fill the depressions with a good penetrating oil a couple of days before I try them , you have to build a little putty dam on the back ones. I use an impact on them ,one burst loosen one burst tighten untill they they loosen enough for the penetrating oil to get under the heads of the bolts. Hope they come out for you, it is a real job to drill them the thickness of the platform Super M's with the battery under the seat are the worst, That's my 2 cents worth
