I watched a guy dig a basement - in town - with just an F-20 and loader when I was a kid, so anything is possible. He dug almost the whole lot up before he got deep enough. You need to remember the Farmall M is primarily a row-crop tractor and has a high center of gravity. If you have lots of time and patience and keep the sides of the pond real gradual you could build the pond. The conservation match idea is a good one. Conservation expenses and related items have interesting income tax treatment. See your tax advisor about this. While you are at it, the ASC people might know who builds a lot of ponds. The heavy equipment guys work by the hour and a good operator might charge more per hour but still charge a lot less overall. Shop around! Steve
