There are several books available thru Barns & Noble that have a good evening's worth of reading that should bring you up to speed on the Farmall lineage.

Farmall was only one of the tractors that helped change the way farmers do business. The evolution from the horse to what is available today took many trials, many of which were great for a few years, but later failed.
