My Super C was running great, and then, all of a sudden, it started to miss and sputter. it's getting fuel. I did a quick check of the ignition system and it seems to be ok. Tonight I'll go over that more systematically. But this problem developed shortly after I checked the radiator and filled it up with coolant. It took almost 2 qts. After that I had it running at about half throtle, for about a half hour. Then, when I opened her up to full throttle, the problem occured and now it's constant. So here's my question. Could the head bolts be so loose that coolant is getting into the combustion chamber and causing the sputtering? Dad and I did replace the head gasket about two years ago, and it's been seeping down along the block for quite a while since. I do notice some whiteish mist coming from the muffler just when I advance the throttle to full open but I don't know whether that's coolant or unburned fuel. I am gonna check the head bolt torque anyway but I was just wondering whether the experts thought that might be it.
