The other gentlemen have given you some great advice. I recently did the brakes and axle seals on my '47 B. I jacked the tractor up from the axle housing, removed the wheel, and lowered the tractor onto a jackstand under the differential. I used an engine hoist to remove the axle housing/final drive on one side, and used a large transmission jack to remove the other one. I liked using the transmission jack better, because it was easier to get the housing and axle aligned when re-installing. Hope this helps.
