No the brakes are not spungy. I had a MF 165 before this and the brakes on that had a mechanical linkage and were a lot easier to operate, ie light pressure on the left brake and the tractor would spin around on itself. THis is a hydraulic system so it should be even easier.
My parking brake is fully unoperational also although after reading postings here I believe it is independat of the foot brake i tried adjusting it but that did not work.
THis is a very well designed tractor I like the gear levers on the left but brakes are important.
