First, make sure the 6 Volt battery is good and fully charged. Just because it's new doesn't mean it's good, or fully charged. Half the brand new tractor batteries my Dad buys are junk when he gets 'em home, and no, it doesn't matter where he buys them. Next, make sure you have good clean electrical connections, and battery cables that are heavy enough. You need at least 0 gauge cables, if not heavier. Previous owners tend to replace the cables with the cheapest pieces of junk they can find. Then the tractor refuses to turn over, and they blame it on being 6 Volt. If the tractor turns over freely by hand, it could just be that the starter is shot...
