You might also look into the HVLP rigs that include the compressor. It is actually a fan that feeds air through a 1-1/2" plastic hose to the gun. I was spraying lacquer with a cheap one ($100) several years ago and it did a great job. Good finish, light overspray, and with the fan, there is no chance of water in the air because it is not really compressed.
