Help please -- M Carb Adjust

Hi all. I'm new to the Farmall scene, and I was hoping you might help me adjust the carb on a '51 M. The attached picture shows the carb along with its various screws and slots (which I've color coded). To be honest, I don't know where to begin with this carb. Our 8N only has two screws -- the main jet and the idle. This carb seems to have a couple extra things. And now that I've fiddled with it, it runs worse than before. :( Is there a baseline setting for these adjustments? On the 8N, for instance, I close them all the way then adjust out 1.5 turns. Any hints you could pass along would be much appreciated. I'm hoping to get a manual for Christmas, but until then....
