Dave: I wouldn't loose a lot of sleep over this hydraulic function in cold weather starts. Your control valve has some wear by now, and probably no longer centers on its own. I've seen many hydraulic systems do this over the years. Articulated tractors are bad on this as they will do that on steering, just have to watch where people are standing when you start. How does your hydraulic oil look? If it is milky, you might try changing it and installing a new hydraulic filter. Moisture in hydraulic systems do tend to make some of these cold weather problems a bit worse. Hydraulic system does handle water quite well, problem comes when water turns to ice. If this tractor is new to you and you don't know a lot of the maintainence history, I would change all liquids and filters, just so you know exactly what is in there.
