Super A Carb

The Carb that I have on my Super A is a carter UT and I really don't like the way it runs. It smoke (black) when you 1st start warm or cold choke or no choke and when you snap the throttle it stumbles then take off. I have checked the float level and it good and it has no vaccumn leaks either. Would a Marvel or a Zenith be a better Carb? Thanks Shaggy
