The H is a row crop tractor, the W4 is for pulling trailing implements only--used by farmers who grew wheat and other small grains that were not cultivated. The engines are the same, few other parts will directly match. Tire size and gearing are different. Parts for a W4 may be somewhat harder to find because of lower production, but are usually available. One step up in size is the W6/WD6, which used the same engine as the M. The largest version was the W9/WD9 which had no row crop equivalent. There really are no "cons" to either tractor, as the farmer had the choice of buying the tractor that best suited his operation. All of the letter and W series tractors were very reliable, that's why they are still around today.
