Should work OK. The splitters I've seen have said on their tags that 8 GPM is ideal. Don't remember the pressure recommendation. I think a 460 is set for around 1500 PSI, and the smaller of the two pumps you could get with a 460 is 12 GPM (I assume this is at 1800 rated RPM.) AT 1200 RPM this'll get you 8 GPM. At 1500 PSI on a typical 4" bore splitter cylinder, this will yield about 9.5 tons of splitting force. I will add that I have no experience around hydraulic log splitters, so I don't know if 9.5 tons is adequate for tough wood.
