Are you talking about when you flip the switch on for the pto, like on the mower, or are you saying when you turn on the ignition switch? Ignition switch must be on, and then the pto will work if the switch for it is also turned on. My Cub Cadet 800, and most all Cub Cadets of that age, will make a small click in the pto area if they are working. Which model is it anyways? I have a copy of the repair manuals for the model # 86, 108, 109, 128, 129, 149, 169, 800, 1000, 1200, 1250, 1450, and 1650 tractors.
