My IH parts man told me disc brakes were available 46 and after. If IH would have kept the Osco Lambert we wouldn't have the problems we do with IH brakes. They used twice the splines on the brake shaft and also in the center of the disc, the sliding surface is about 3/8 in wide. that eliminates binding and making indents in the brake shaft.Replacment discs from IH were 80 bucks apiece. a local brake shop did all mine for 165. that was in 2000.I use the M a lot and haven't adjusted the brakes yet.
