Hugh,
I'll try to get a picture when I get home if its still light but to explain further, about 8 inches behind the fast hitch male prong (that goes into the socket on the tractor), is typically a vertical shaft that also seats just above the tractor socket. This vertical shaft is what I called the vertical stabilizer. Does that clear it up?
