Maybe the tractor was designed by a British engineer. They drive on the left side of the road! :>)

I really don’t have an idea except that most implements like one way plows, sickle mowers, pull type pickers, and pull type windrowers were on the right hand side of the tractor (seems to me that grain binders were opposite). From a visibility point it would make sense to put the operators platform on the right side too.
