This is a fun thread of comments! What is interesting is to see and hear stories about this or that regarding plows. I assume most of the big one way plows are used on large acre farms where you are not worried about flood irrigating. My area is totally flood irrigated! No one in my area has a need or desire to own one way plows of any type. All we have are two way plows as we can't stand the "dead furrow" issue. It disturbs to much gound and makes for a situation where we can't water effectively. Our farms are also typically square and about 40 acres each. Two way plows, thankfully, just leave us one dead furrow to mess around with. We generally back plow across the dead furrow to reduce the effect of throwing the soil to one side. Hope someone can point me in the direction of some new I-H 16" shares for my two bottom two way plow before spring plowing time! Al

Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
