SuperA Carb: Carter UT

I asked this question before and I am asking again. What is the float level foe a Carter Carb? I know you turn it upside down and measure from carb flat surface to the float. Is it the bottom of the float or the top? What is the height (17/64" ?) ? I checked my service and operators and it does not say a thing about Carter carbs. I must sound like an idiot but I just want to get her running without backfiring and dieing on me. Thanks in advance.
