My dad and I are rebuilding a 1256 for pulling ,we just finished the drivetrain and everything is working great except the alternator is not charging. We had the alternator rebuilt and hooked it up the way it was when we got the tractor ,however we never had a chance to see if it charged before we tore the tractor down. The only wires going to the alternator are the two in the dual plug and one going to the large external post and nothing going to the small post.We can get the alternator to charge if we pull the regulator cover push the contacts together .Is the regulator the problem or is the wiring wrong? Also if anyone out there has big lines, injectors ,and a 450 head Roosa for sale let me know.I might be interested in selling our completely rebuilt stock set-up,lines,injectors and pump-works great except I doubt we'll have enough fuel for pulling. The only thing modified in the pump is the leaf spring is cranked down, otherwise completely stock.

Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
