Hogman..You can get your 300 up to 50hp and still have a farm usable tractor. I have a 300F and 300U that I rebuilt with 3 5/8 flat top pistons,propane heads, propane intake and exhaust manifolds. The propane heads raised the compression up to about 9 to 1. You can get the compression up with step head type pistons but I think you get better combustion with flat top pistons. These two tractors will dyno 50hp. How ever if I pull 50hp out of them I do have to burn hi octane fuel or they will ping. If I don't let them pull below the governer I can run regular fuel without any problem.
