There are several things that could have cause this may be a water problem in the gas , you could have gotten snow in the air filter as this does happen , your heat riser may be stuck and the manifold is not heating up wright of it could be carb frosting or snow in the dist. and like one said a restriction in the fuel system . Problems never show up unless you are in a hurry. Also you should be running high test gas in that 706 since our reg 87 gas is not what it use to be old reg gas was 95 octain now high test is 93 the min. of what should be in a 706.
