1) If you have the rear light with the saftey red bulb inside you will have a two-position switch that twists. Knob will be a knurled metal or plastic one. 2) The 12 volts will burn the points up. It's debatable as to how long it'll take, but I did this on a car years ago and it only took about 20 minutes.Mount a resistor near the coil, attach wire that runs from switch - coil to one side of resistor. Make another wire to fasten on other post of resistor and to coil. You'll have to do this eventually anyway, if using 12 volts, may as well do it now. Resistor cost between 5 - 7 dollars. 3) You shouldn't have any trouble with the hyd. in cold weather. Use IH Hy-Tran ONLY!

Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
