2500 is way too much for a casting. Look into rapid prototyping and in paticular SLA. Stereolithography is a pretty efficient method of making a model, and that is probabbly the most expensive part of casting as all else is just packing oiled sand around a model. A two piece SLA model is all you would need to make the impression in the mold, and if made right, you can use it to make the sand core that you would need as well. Do a search on SLA and stereolithography and just check it out. If you have a friend who can make you a 3D CAD model that will reduce your costs as well. I have to do a stereolithography modeling project for a class I am taking now and I was thinking of making a cylinder head mold.
