I don't object to them. You are correct that a machine shop can't meet that price. My thinking is, and it could be wrong, is that the speedy sleeve will wear faster than if the shaft was filled and reground. In other words a temporary fix. (I would appreciate being corrected by someone who knows, they could be harder for all I know). That said, I considered speedy sleeves for the axle seals on my 460, but I think I got the seal away from the groove, I may have had them machined, but didn't have to make that decision. I would say for your use, they are fine. For what I use them for, high speed shafts, I would be a little leery of them if I used my tractors much, which I don't. So your application is probably safer than mine.
