do not be afraid to use the speedi sleeves or other like products.they have been used on road truck and trailer axles through the years. also used on diesel engine crankshaft and accessory drive applications.if your shaft is grooved real bad you can use a tube type permatex product to ensure oil does not getout between the sleeve and shaft.the speedi sleeve is reusable if the sesl goes bad.stemco had wear rings for years before speedi sleeve. most failures were due to improper failures.many fleets would spec out new trucks with stemco.remember your wheels or tractor do not have the rpms or rod speed .my .02
