Farmall letter series typically run cold, particularly in the north, shutters were an option, I suppose they could be installed on any letter series. Also if your hood doesn't have a hole in it for the small tank, perhaps the hood is not original -- what does your manifold look like -- the kero/distillate had a cover and an adjustable manifold heat control valve. Minus the cover, the manifold has a rectangular tube between the intake and also the exhaust tubes. The manifold could have also been replaced. I apologize if you already know all this.
