The Silver diamond (1949) was 220, or 221 to be accurate, as you said, but it had 220 stamped in the bottom of the oil pan. The Black Diamond was a 241, and came out later, 56 or 57 I think. It was essentially just a bored out Silver diamond with a few other minor differences. I'm not sure but maybe the crank is different, that might explain the difference in displacement.
