warranty on a trans or rear using synthetic oil is predicated on changing the oil every 250,000 miles.not doin so voids warranty.before the days of synthetic 50 wt mineral was used in fuller transmissions.a 90wt would varnish the synchrnizers.that oil was changed every 50 thou.go with the manufacturers specs.a lot of engineers have spent a lot of hours reading a lot of info to come up with their recommendations.if by chance ihc does recommend this red oil that could be a different story. i would rather use the hy tran and beable to tell when im getting moisture in the gears.my .02
